What is it used for and why?

Establishing the location of where the filming is, time, setting the scene.

Close up are used because to show emotion on the characters face expressions.

Extreme close up are used because close to show general reactions or emotion except in very dramatic scenes .

It is a shot that shows two characters in one frame.

The shot that shows a point of view of a character. This can be a conversation with someone.They used this shot to show the eye level.
