Why is the American flag an important symbol?

What does the American Flag look like? The flag has 13 red and white

stripes The flag has 50 white Stars

What do the stripes mean?

There are 13 stripes They are each for one of the first 13

states The stripes are in a pattern Red and White

On the newest flag there are 50 stars Each star is for a state Whenever a new state was added

they had to add another star

How is the flag a symbol? The flag represents our independence It represents each state Since there is a star for each one

What are Earth Materials? They do not change over time They have been around for hundreds of

years They get moved by water, wind, and

people They do not breathe or eat, like animals

do.
