To research and analyse various Portrait Artists. o Use booklets to help with understanding the proportions of the face. o Draw your Self-Portrait from a photograph using the grid system. Photocopy 3/4 times and use (paint, collage, pastel, chalk and charcoal). o SUMMER RESEARCH . All students should go to the BP Awards at the National Portrait Gallery. A01, A02, A03 and A04 Teacher Resources (including images and Boardworks),Worksheets and Homework Sheets (various- planned by BKS and ALT) Paper (various types and colours), Acrylic Paint PVA Glue and Pritt Stick, Brushes (various) Watercolours, Pastels (oil and chalk) Chalk and Charcoal, Printing Inks, Rollers, Palettes,Chicken Wire, Newspaper, Mod Roc, Clay. Use of Art camera and students own. Most Should learn o How to draw a portrait using different starting points and materials. o How to replicate the style and use of materials of different artists. o Draw yourself using mirrors and personal photographs. o Experiment with media and processes in relation to different artists. A01, A02, A03 and A04 As Above and use of a canvas. Some Could learn To show the basic shape and form of the facial features. To copy Key Elements from artists work. o Cut-out facial features from magazines. o Create portraits using similar key elements as artists, e.g. Chuck Close’s use of PATTERN.
