‘COLD FACES’ – THE PHOTOS

This simplistic black and white photos define and explain what ‘cold faces’ is all about. The dark shadows echo the depth of thought going through the students minds and the light demonstrate the hope that lies within them.The photos focus on their facial expression with the rest of the photo being simple and not the main feature.

The photo on the left

focuses on the dark

shadows and the

background is vastly out of focus. On the other hand

the photo on the right

highlights the light colours

with the background

being more in focus and very little

shadows on the face.

This photo, whilst being simple and adds emphasis on not only the shadows but highlights the lighter colours in the photo, is unique for there is more behind the eyes. It strikes you straight away that more can be read into it. This is what makes the photo so simple yet so unique.
