Date, Issue Number and price placed on the right to appear insignificant, a barcode would also usually be found on the right of the magazine.
Masthead usually found at the top of the cover spanning the entire width of the piece to dominate layout.Figures will often overlap masthead to provide a sense of depth and layering, not all of the masthead is required to be visible as the reader will be able to piece what's missing together especially if the brand of magazine is well known and has a recognisable masthead. Contents very
rarely covers facial image.
Most magazines would usually utilise a small variation of fonts to keep the cover lively yet consistent however here they’ve stuck to a very minimal use of font to keep consistent with the minimalist monochrome theme of the cover. Instead of changing the font style to differentiate content this example has instead altered the size of the text and also the colour.
