Cut-out Poem: words cut out from newspapers and magazines can be turned
into a poem by the students when arranged on a blank piece of paper.
Number Poem: students chose a phone number and use it as the poem title. The
poem will have as many lines as the phone has numbers
Memory Poem: Students write down memories relating to each of the senses and
then combine words and sentences from each one to form a poem.
Simile Poem: Students write a poem that contains three similes. They must decide if the similes will describe the same thing or three
different things.
Step by Step Poem: Outline some steps and get students to follow them in order to write
their own poem.
