Mardy Bum,we chose this song by the arctic monkeys for many reasons. A main one being is that as a group we initially decided that we wanted our music video song to be in the genre of indie. With this in mind we looked at a lot of artists including The killers, Kasabian, Biffy Clyro, Kings of Leon, Thriving Ivory and Mayday parade. So it took a lot of planning to decide on The Arctic Monkeys. After we had decided on the band we wanted, we began to look at songs and we narrowed it down to four songs, red light indicates doors are secured, The Ritz to the Rumble and a certain romance, then we eventually decided that the best song for our group was Mardy Bum.

Arctic Monkeys fact file:• Indie/Rock genre• Formed in 2002• Consists of lead singer Alex Turner, lead guitarist Jamie Cook, bass guitarist Andy Nicholson, drummer Matt Helders• 4 studio albums released• Two most famous number 1 singles, When the Sun Goes Down and I Bet You Look Good on the Dance Floor• Signed with ‘Domino’ in 2005• Signed with ‘Epic Records for the US in 2005• Their debut album became the fastest-selling debut album in British music history

Key Locations• Drama StudioWe are using the drama studio to film the performance because there is good lighting,

plenty of space and is easily accessible.

• Train StationWe are filming a large part of the narrative at Newcastle central station because it is

essential for part of the story including the male character, and influenced the clock motif.

• FlatThe flat is essential because it sets the scene of the developing relationship of the two

main characters, and will appear in the flashbacks in the narrative.

• RestaurantThe restaurant is the closing of the narrative. It will show the female character waiting

hence the concept of time and being late. The closing visuals will show the female meeting a male character however it wont be the same male as the one throughout the music video.
