PHOTOSHOOT

Page 2: Photoshoot

Firstly I took photos of Sara in the way I had originally planned; walking down the street with a folder. I then decided that I didn’t like the walking ones very much

because at the time when I was taking the photos there was too much going on in the background like random people walking past. This is the best image from that group.

I tried some standing still poses which I quite liked and I decided to used the rule of thirds to make the image look better and so I would have space for the writing. I also used a shallow

depth of field to make Sara stand out more than the background so the attention is drawn to her. I then went on to experiment with the exposure to see if it could make the background look

any nicer.

Experimenting with exposures

I started experimenting with close ups, so all that could be seen was Sara’s face and her folder. I used a shallow depth of field for these and the rule of thirds so that if I

used one of these images for the magazine the writing could go on the left.

I didn’t use a lot of the images because you couldn’t see the folder or anything

relevant to school.

I started to experiment with photos outside of

the school buildings and I really liked the background, I feel it worked much better

than the street since it is more relevant to

school life. I really liked this image but then I

realised I could get the school buildings name

into the photos so I took even more.

Page 8: Photoshoot

These are really nice ones of Sara but there is way to much going on in the background but it would have been perfect because you can see the school properly in both and she is holding the folder so it looks really schoolish.

I experimented with a really playful pose but I decided I didn’t like it because I wanted the photo on my cover to be more serious since it was about school. But I decided I liked the background so the image I would use would have a similar

background.

This is the image I used in the end because

everything in it looks really good Also the title of the

building can be seen quite well apart from the last

few letters but that can be photo-shopped.
