Back ground

Pendulum is an Australian/British drum andbass group founded in 2002 signed to reakbeat Kaos, Warner Music UK, Earstorm and Atlantic Records. Pendulum formed in Perth, Western Australia by Rob Swire, Gareth Mcgrillen, and Paul Harding. Rob and Gareth also constitute the electro house duo Knife Party. The group was notable for a distinctive sound, mixing hard rock with electronic music, and developing to cover a wider range of genres. After hearing Konflict's"Messiah" at a club, they were inspired to enter into the Drum & Bass genre. They founded Pendulum with Paul Harding, who was a veteran DJ in the Drum & Bass scene. In 2003 the band relocated to the United Kingdom. While Hold Your Colour holds true to the Drum & Bass genre, Pendulum have since experimented with mixing other genres into their work, as can be heard on In Silicoand Immersion.

Current

Although Pendulum have split, there is talks of a return album some time in 2014. However, there is also the current sucess of Knife Party, an Australian electronic dance music duo signed to the Eaststorm label. They formed from two members of the drum and bass band Pendulum, Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen. They currently rank at #25 on DJ Magazine's annual Top 100 DJs poll. They formed in 2011 and are still currently working together. The music of knife party does not differ that much from Pendulums sound, as their music covers Electro house, dubstep, moombahton and drumstep genres.
