Twelve sunkNine Damaged
The attack came out of nowhere killing over 2350 people.
Almost all of those 2350 were in the military.
Dedicated to the memory of Pearl Harbor and to the Americans who gave their lives for their country on December 7, 1941.
President Roosevelt had banned all exports to Japan. The US didn’t want Japan to expand. Pearl Harbor was the home of the U.S. Pacific Fleet.
Japan did not want the U.S. in the war because the U.S at this time had the greatest Naval force.
Reasons why Japan attacked
Americans were nothing but scared. The bombing came out of nowhere and no one was ready for it. People hid and fled for their lives. They were told to run to the hill tops far away from Pearl Harbor.
After the last bomb was dropped Americans were still filled with so much fear. The fear shortly filled with rage when people realized what had actually happened, and how many died.
In the end the attack only took about two hours.
The Americans fought back, by sending to very large bombs back at Japan.
