Homework• Homework is copied in the assignment book daily.• Please check to see that all assignments are

completed.• After reviewing homework assignments with your

child, you may sign the assignment book if you like.• Replacement cost for an assignment book is $5.00.

Student Responsibilities• Students are responsible daily for:

─ Arriving promptly and ready to learn, grow, and take risks─ Being an active part of our learning community– Giving 100% effort– Copying and completing homework assignments.– Reading 30 minutes and getting reading log signed daily.– Test schedules– Preparing for tests ahead of time at home– Following school and classroom procedures, LIFESKILLS,

and Lifelong Guidelines

Attendance• All students should be in the building by 8:00 AM.• Students will be marked tardy if they enter the building at

8:10. Please sign your child in if they are tardy.• Students cannot wait at the kiosk to be picked up.

Please let your teacher know in advance if you want them to be ready by a certain time.

Absences & Leaving Early• When your child is absent, please send a written excuse on the

day of his or her return or email me. Please include reason for the absence and the date.

• If you would like to pick up assignments, please call early in the day. Work may be picked up after school has been dismissed unless other plans have been made.

• Please do not sign any students out after 2:15. This is district policy.

Transportation Changes• Please send in a note to your teacher for

any transportation changes. • If changes are made during the day

please call the Kelly Mill kiosk 714-1300, then press 2.

Snacks• Fifth graders eat lunch late in the day.• Students are encouraged to bring water daily and

a small snack or two.• Snacks must be healthy.• No cookies, cakes, or candy please

•Students will be allowed to go to the media center and have self-selected reading during reading workshop.

•Student will be allowed to take reading counts test during reading workshop and after morning work.

•We will also visit the media center as a class once a week.
