2. Pupils discuss how animals make good friends and give specific

examples of pets they have or know about pets.

3. Pupils discuss ways in which members of their families have been

friends to them, such as by helping them through difficult situations.

4. Pupils draw the Web:- They should discuss before drawing and write

by their point of views.

(Ths is just example and can be changed)

4. Pupil read a few books about different ways in which children and

animals in literature have fun with their friends they play games and

enjoy themselves together. The work together and help each other.

5. Have the work project outside the class-room, at home and in the

community, to find out the experience and understand the meaning of

Who are your friends?

Which one you like best?

Why do you like her or him?

What do you enjoy doing with her or him?

How can you be a good friend to others?

7. Think about it and write a short story:-

Friends are those whom we enjoy being with and care for. Helping

friends solve problems and working together. Friends help us when we

are unhappy. Friends tell us the truth and protect us etc.

8. Pupil discuss, question and answer, before reading, listening, speaking

and writing activities. Encourage them to set activities by themselves.

9. Pupils cut from old magazine and newspapers, photographs of people

and their pets and use them to make an animal collage.

10. Pupils then make up a story to go with their collage.

11. Pupils dictate sentences about favorite things they like to do with pets.

Teachers record sentences on the board.

12. Pupil make pictures of themselves having fun with their animal friends.

Pupils choose one of the sentences from the board and write it under

their pictures.

13. Pupils make up rhymes about friendships, and teacher writes on the

board.

Friend, friend, friend.

You are my good friend.

You help me, I help you.

You love me, I love you.

You’re sad, I’m sad.

You’re happy, I’m happy.

14. Have pupils make drawing the illustrate activities they like to do with

friends.

15. Have pupils think of words or phrases that tell about favorite things

they like to do it with friends, such as ride bikes or play with toy. As

they dictate their ideas, write the words or phrases on strips of paper

and put them in a box.

16. Pupils draw pictures to give to special family members such as

grandparents, parents or aunts etc.

17. Pupils share ideas about ways friends can hurt feelings or disappoint

each other.

18. Pupils discuss how those difficulties might be resolved in a positive

way.

19. Pupils invent situations and role-play way to resolve a disagreement

with a friend.

20. Pupils work together to copy and illustrate the rhymes.

21. Pupils work in pairs to role play one-way that two friends can help each

other.

22. Pupils write a letter to a pupil who has moved away or is absent.

23. Pupils make wordless picture books to share with special friends.

24. Pupils bring favorite books from home or the library that feature stories

about friends.

25. Pupils share books with the class and report on what is special about the

friendship in each book.

26. After pupils have completed the webs, encourage them to discuss in the

way different kinds of friends.

– Tell about the name of each pupil’s friend.

– Tell how that person or animal (pet) is special.

27. Pupils read aloud and tell the meanings:-

30. Summary (เรองยอ)

One day Julian discovers that a new girl has moved into his

neighborhood. He thinks that people laugh when they find out that a

boy has a girl for a friend, but he begins to like Gloria when she doesn’t

laugh at his attempt to do a cart wheel. Gloria also teaches Julian how

to make kite wishes. And best of all, both Gloria and Julian wish for the

same thing—that they will become best friends!

After Reading

Ask children to think of some situations or occasions when they

might wish for something. Answers will probably include the

following.

● When you blow out birthday candles.

● When you see the first star at night.

● When you toss a coin into a wishing well

Ask children if they have ever make a wish on one of these

occasions, and discuss with them somethings they have wished for in

the past. Then ask children if they have even wished for a new friend.

Point out that a wish usually doesn’t come true unless you do some-

thing to make it come true. Discuss with children somethings they

could do to make a wish for a new friend come true.

What do you think makes a person a good friend? Encourage

children to talk about the instructional vocabulary words. What do the

words mean? How might the words be used in a selection about two

friends who make and fly a kite together?
