About our solar system
The galaxy in which all live –
• The galaxy in which we all live is called as the milky way galaxy
• The whole solar system is a part of milky way galaxy.
Did you know –There are over 900crore galaxies in the world.
The sun
• The sun is the only source of light in the solar system .• The sun is the only luminous body in the whole solar system.
The sun is the closest star from Earth.
Closest planet to the sun
It is the closest planet in the solar system
Morning and Evening star
Moves from East to West
It is the second planet in the solar system
It is the third planet in the solar system
Called as a Red planet
An evening star
Largest planet of the solar system
It is 318 times bigger than the Earth
It is made up of-
It is fifth planet from the solar system
SATURNIt is the sixth planet from the solar system
It is the third largest planet in the solar system
It is the second last planet in the solar system .
Rings of Uranus
• The rings of Uranus are extremely faint .
It is made up of -
It receives no light from the sun and is a lightless desert.
It is the last planet in the solar system.Neptune
Asteroids • Asteroids are chunks of rocks which orbit the sun.
• The main Asteroid belt in the solar system is between the planets Mars and Jupiter
• They are believed as a loose material which never formed planets
• The total mass of all the Asteroids in the solar system is less than the mass of Moon .
Natural satellites
• Natural satellite are celestial bodies which orbit around any
planet .• Moon is a natural satellite • Moon is a non-luminous body and reflects the light of sun
Natural satellite .

Comets
• Comets are the striking members of the sun’s family . • They are made up of dust and snow .And revolve
around the sun in an oval path.• When a comet passes the sun it’s ice starts to melt
due to the heat of the sun. A structure of a Comet.
Meteors • Meteors are small celestial bodies and are also called as Shooting
stars .• When a meteor enters the Earth’s atmosphere it gets burnt due to friction with the Earth’s atmosphere.• When a part of a meteor crashes on Earth’s surface Without burning then the part of the meteor is called as meteorites .
