Components of environment

Biotic

(Living things in the surrounding)

•Plants•Animals•Microorganism•Insects etc

(Non Living things in the surrounding)•Sunlight•Water•Air•Soil

Abiotic

Biotic Components

Abiotic Components

Which include living beings including humans.

Which include all natural -essential non-living things around the organism.

Interrelation of the Components

• A food chain is the representation of a single energy pathway from the producer to the consumer. The study of food chains in an area or habitat helps us to know about interactions among the different organisms and also their interdependence.

Page 8: Our Environment( Science)

Thus we can say that if one element of the environments is damaged then the whole ecosystem is unbalanced.

EFFECT OF ALTERATION OF HABITAT

The survival of an organism in a habitat depends upon the way an organism isconditioned to the abiotic and the biotic components of the environment in the habitat. Any change or alteration in the habitat can disrupt the balance in nature.

OZONE UMBRELLAThe atmosphere of earth has many layers. One of them called STRATOSPHERE contains OZONE. It is an isotope of oxygen which is very useful to all living beings on earth. The OZONE in atmosphere act as an umbrella. Just like an umbrella protect us from rain and sunlight this OZONE protect all earth from harmful radiations especially ULTRAVIOLET RADIATIONS originating from sun.
