Osaka is a city in Japan  Is a designated city. Capital city of Osaka Prefecture. Second largest metropolitan area in Japan.

Metropolitan area that sits on Osaka Bay It is located on the Island of Honshu Situated at the mouth of the Yodo River Surrounded by mountains One of the smallest prefectures in Japan

Climate: Osaka is located in the humid subtropical climate zone

Average temperature 60ºF (15´5ºC) WINTER Cold and dry SUMMER Hot and humid AUGUST Warmest month, temperature can reach 90ºF (32´2ºC)

History and Develpment

The city was established in 1889. Major city of political and economical center of

Japan. Around 1573, Toyotomi Hideyoshi chose Osaka to

settle the Osaka Castle. Osaka, known for their amount of fighting and

wars. Osaka was Japan´s capital. Later, in the 17th

century moved to Edo Osaka is now a part of the very large urban and

industrial business in Japan.  Mayor : Tōru Hashimoto

Osaka took the smoke in the atmosphere as something they should be proud of. They called

Osaka “Kemuri no miyako” which means “Capital of smoke.” This, later became an environmental

issue.
