These are all the pictures that I have taken for my front cover, contents page and double page spread. Some of these pictures I have used however some of them I haven’t. I will be explaining the images that I have used on the next three slides.

FRONT COVERThis is the image that I used on the front page of my rock music magazine. I used this image as the location of this picture looks very rock like. This is because the image contains a metal stair case. It gives the image more of a grungy look, which I was trying to achieve with my front cover. Also, the texture of the brick wall in the background gives effect to the image and makes the model in the picture look like she is from a rough background. The clothes that the model wore was: leather black jacket, black jeans, grey top and black and white converse. The model dresses how stereotypically rock artist dress like. The waviness in the models hair also give the picture a rough look, as it looks slightly messy and it seems like the model just doesn’t care. The messy hair represents the ‘I don’t care’ attitude that rock artists usually have. This image was perfect for my front cover as it told the audience what the magazine genre was before they even read the magazine. Also, this image was manipulated effectively in photoshop.

CONTENTS PAGEI have used this image on my contents page. I used this image as the model is holding a guitar, which represents the background of rock music. This tells the audience that this magazine is purely based upon music. This image was very important to put into my magazine as I wanted to manipulate it in a way that there would be a studio in the background. It will show the audience that rock artists put lots of there time and effort into working at the studio and aren’t as reckless as everyone makes them out to be. The facial expression on the models face is monotone, which does not tell the audience her emotion and makes them want to know more about her.

I have used this image on my contents page however, I have cut out Zara and only used Taitum. The reason as to why I cropped out Zara is because I could not use her twice on the same page. Having Taitum cross her arms in the picture it shows how stubborn and confident rock artists are. The grey that Taitum wore, represents the genre of rock, as stereotypically rock artists do not wear much colour. Also, by Taitum being white it conforms with the stereotypical rock ethnicity. Nearly on all rock magazines most rock artists are white.

I used this image on my contents page as the model is wearing dark colours on her clothing such as: burgundy and mauve. This brings a pop of colour to my contents page and it subverts the usual colours that rock artists wear. By placing this model on the contents page it will make my contents page less bland and add more colour, which attracts the human eye. Also, this model wear dark red lipstick which conforms with the masthead and makes it pop out more on the page. In addition, this model is not of a white ethnic background which subverts from the usual ethnic stereotype. I have done this because I want this rock magazine to include all kinds of cultures and show rock fans that rock artists can be diverse.

Lastly, I have used this image on my contents page as the model wears all black which conforms with the rock genre’s colours. The colour black may convey to the audience that the model loves this colour and that she has a cold personality, which might have been affected by her rough past. Most rock artists have had an rough time and that’s why they have such a reckless life. I used this image to try and tell a story to the audience. Also, the bricks give the model look more edgy which I was trying to be aim for. The model wears a scarf which breaks the usual stereotypes. This is because no other magazine has ever included a woman that wears a scarf. I used this image to tell the audience that anyone from any culture can like rock music, whether that is a Muslim, Jewish or Sikh. More people will want to read this rock magazines as we are breaking many stereotypes. I also manipulated this image in Photoshop.

DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD

I will be using this image on my double page spread. The reason that I will be using this image is because the model in this image is the same model that is on the front cover. On the front cover I have used this model and made the main cover line upon her ‘glorious truth’. This means that I will have to use this model on my double page spread and explain as to what Megan’s glorious truth is. Everyone will want to read the doubler page spread due to the cover line. I will also use this image on my front cover as the model is wearing all black clothing which represents Rock. I will be manipulating the background so that the model is placed in a concert. This is because the article will be linked to Megan’s new album and upcoming tour. The background image will show how much Megan is passionate about her music and her career. This will represent Megan as a good role model to people, which is very rare for people to think of rock artists in this way. Once again I am trying to subvert the usual stereotypes for the genre of rock. Also, by Megan having darkly coloured hair, it conforms with the stereotypical colours that rock musicians like. This image gives an edgy vibe to the audience. By Megan crossing her arms it connotes to the audience that she is confident and fearless.
