What is e-Shelf?

E-shelf is your personal electronic “bookshelf” of UBC Library material. In e-Shelf, you can:

Save and organize your search queries and results. Write notes about the material for your own use. Email, print or send e-Shelf material to RefWorks. Find due dates for material you have checked out on your library card. Check items you have requested from the library.

Accessing your e-Shelf Account

Saving Materials on e-Shelf

To save material to your e-Shelf, select the “Add to e-Shelf” button listed in the record.

Select the “Advanced search” link.Select the “Sign in” link.Sign in using your last name and library card barcode.

“Reading” your e-Shelf

Creating Folders

To create a folder, select the icon. To move items into the folder, drag and drop the record(s) into the folder

from the main list.

To rename your folder, select the icon. To delete a folder, select the icon.

Deleting Materials from your e-Shelf

To delete records from your e-Shelf, check the box next to the record you want to delete. When you are ready to

delete, select the icon.

This is a list of material on your e-Shelf. Select any material from the list and the full record will appear below.

To add your personal comments/notes to items on your e-Shelf, select the thought bubble icon.

All items you add to your e-Shelf will appear in the “Basket” until you organize them into folders.

These buttons/drop-downs allow you to e-mail, print, or send your citations to RefWorks.

The “My library card” link provides you with information about your library account (e.g. due dates, requests, etc.).
