Miss Corinna Lee

Greetings Potential Spirit Squad members and parents. My name is Miss Corinna Lee and I will be the Spirit Squad Director at Oxford Preparatory Academy SOC. I believe that being part of a sport program is life changing for all individuals and I hope to build this volunteer program into something great! I have included some of my background in dance, songleading, and cheer.

2002 – 2005: Member of the Diamond Bar High School Dance Team

2005 – 2009: Member of the UCI Dance Team◦ Captain 2007 – 2009◦ Danced on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brein

cheerleader 2005: Started coaching at University High School,

Irvine – Varsity Songleader Team 2005: Started teaching jazz, hip hop, and

competition teams at Dancecapade Studios, Walnut 2006-2007: Parade dancer for Walt Disney

Company, Anaheim 2010: Spirit Squad Director for Oxford Preparatory

Academy (OPA) Spirit Squad, Chino Valley

It is the purpose of the OPA Spirit Squad to promote and uphold school spirit for those we encounter, to develop good sportsmanship by example, to support good relations in the community and between teams and squads during events.

All members must be in 6th – 8th grade and attend Oxford Preparatory Academy

All members must be medically fit and have parent consent ◦ Waiver form must be submitted.

All members must maintain a 2.5 GPA, in the 4 academic subjects, every trimester

All members must receive a ‘B’ or better for behavior and homework every trimester

Varsity practices will be on Wednesday and Friday mornings from 7:30 – 8:15 in the Honour Hall

Spirit Squad members are expected to cheer at games after school

Members are expected to perform at school functions◦ Assemblies◦ Christmas Performance◦ Open House

Just like any other sport, there is a financial responsibility in order to operate

The Spirit Squad is a year long sport ◦ We begin in August and go until June

New Spirit Squad members will pay a flat fee of $600 for the entire year◦ This will include uniforms, summer practices, and

summer camp Financial commitment will be lower in subsequent

years for returning Spirit Squad members A deposit of $300 is due at the uniform

fitting (TBA) Payment plan is available

Summer practices are mandatory August 23 and 24 – Summer Camp

◦ 9:45 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. The Talent Factory (13613 12th St #A, Chino, CA

91710) Camp will be combined with the Chino OPA Spirit

◦ 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. SOC Campus

There will be a demerit system Participants will be deducted 1 point for the

following accounts:◦ Missing uniform or practice attire

Shoes, Bows, Briefs, so forth◦ Excused tardy or absences ◦ Behavior or poor attitude ◦ Not following directions

Participants will be deducted 2 points for the following accounts:◦ Unexcused tardy or absences

5 Demerits -Poster making for sports teams 10 Demerits – Benched for 1 performance 15 Demerits – 1 month probation 20 Demerits – Membership terminated

Spirit Squad Clinic is tentatively set for Saturday, July 23

Due to facilities, Parent Information Meeting, Clinic, and auditions will be held at OPA in Chino (5862 C. St. Chino, CA 92617)

Please have:◦ Athletic clothes and shoes. Jazz Shoes (optional)◦ Water and a snack◦ Hair up in a ponytail, no jewelry◦ SMILES and positive attitude!

All materials taught at the clinic will be seen at the audition

9:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. – Parent Information Meeting

10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. – Spirit Squad Clinic 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Audition Time

Sign Up and Individual practice ◦ Lunch will be provided for participants

12:30 p.m. – Auditions begin

This is a CLOSED audition Each member will be given a number and

will be auditioning in groups of 3 Each group will have 10 minutes for their

audition Materials taught at the clinic will be

performed at the audition Members will sign up for an audition time

after the clinic

Members will be judged based on a rubric provided by the Spirit Squad advisor

There will be 3-4 judges to prevent any bias All judges’ scores for each member will be

entered into the computer and will be averaged

Members will be selected based off these scores

Members will be able to find out if they have made the Spirit Squad online at our website

A Result List will be posted. New Spirit Squad members and candidates will be listed/ identified by numbers only.
