Over all we got 53 respondents This meant that we could get a good round knowledge of our target audience, which means that our planning will become easier because, as we had ideas of what way to go with the music video.
This shows us that the most popular genre of music is Pop. The genre of our song “East of Eden” comes under Pop which is helpful as it means that it can appeal to more people and not just one set group. However another popular option was Other, but the problem was that we didn’t ask them to say what was the genre that they actually listen to, this would have been helpful to know as I would have liked to know what it was to be able to analyse it against the Pop genre to see if it would still be as popular. Heavy metal and Classic was the lowest score with 0 showing that our target audience defiantly does not listen to this type of music, showing that we do not have to appeal to them as well.
This shows that most of our target audience will be girls. This makes the planning process easier as it will help us to think of ideas that will be more directed to them. However, we did get a few male which suggests that we should not exclude them from our ideas; we should incorporate aspects that they will enjoy as well to be able to get a full range of different audiences.
This result was very unusual to us because, our initial target audience was aged between 17<20 as this was the type of music that they would listen to. However, 31< got the music responses, this shows to us that we can extend the age gap of our target audience. This will be good as it means that our audience has increased and more people will view it.

This shows that music videos in the age group of 31< are not that important to them, which could make us reconsider them being part of our target audience. We want a target audience that likes to watch music videos because; it will mean that they will want to watch ours which would create a Word of Mouth type of marketing, which is the most powerful type of marketing. This will help to get our video out to as many people as possible.
This shows that the most popular type of narrative in a music video is narrative. This means that within our music video we need to include a storyline to be able to appeal to our target audience, which will make them more interested in our video. Another popular choice was “Not Sure” this means that our audience does not really know what they want out of the music video, this means that we can be creative and chose what we will think what’s best to help us create the star image.
This could be seen as a problem for our artist because, she has female vocals and our target audience prefers male vocals. This could mean that we needed to market her more, to get to more people to listen to her.
