Hazards and Its Effects
Hazard – is a condition where there is a threat to life, health, property and environment.
Types of Hazards1. Physical – this hazards often has human and natural elements.Ex. Earthquake, typhoons.
X-ray is another hazards from solar radiation.
2. Biological – originate from foreign organism identified with food. Diseases in humans come from in form of infection caused by bacteria, viruses or parasites.
3. Chemical - Agricultural and Commercial industry and also in housekeeping like disinfectants, air freshener etc.
4. Mechanical – involves machines or mechanical processes.
5. Ergonomic – this hazard harms the musculoskeletal system of a worker.

It is a constitutional law design to make sure that all Filipino have air is safe to breath in.

Types of Waste1. Solid Waste – Dry waste that are
considered useless. Ex. Plastic, cans, Styrofoam, etc.
2. Liquid Waste – include human waste, industrial waste, waste water, flood water. Ex. wastewater from ponds and chemical plants.

Biodegradable – waste that decomposeNon- biodegradable – waste that do not
decompose.

Hazardous Wastes – waste from commercial, industrial and agricultural activities. Ex. Paint, Insecticides, etc.
Non – hazardous wastes – safe substances. Ex. paper, cardboard, etc.

Types of Personal Protective Equipment1. Dust mask – a flexible pad held over nose
and mouth by elastic straps. Serves as protection against dust.
2. Sunglasses – protection against harmful ultraviolet lights.
3. Safety eyewear – protection against flying debris.
4. Safety- toe protective footwear – protects the feet from falling objects.
5. Sturdy work shoes – to protect and comfort the feet while working.

chemical absorption, disinfectants, etc.
