Peck Place Community Open House• September 28th
• Self-Guided Tour, follow the ‘paw prints’
• Pen & a ‘Guide’• About 70 people attended• Guests were admiring --
appreciated the work• Did not accomplish the goal
Our ELL Program Recognized
• ELL program -- attracting positive attention
• As a result, our ELL teacher invited to sit on a state-wide sub-committee of CAPPELL to write the new ELL proficiency standards
• Goal = revise old ELL CT Framework to meet new federal standards
Code Red Drills at all 4 Schools
• September Drills – announced• Kids and teachers – excellent!• Equipment ‘glitch-y’• Repaired and retested the
equipment Friday & Columbus Day
• Standardized ‘Emergency Operations Guides’ for the classrooms
Journeys Reading Curriculum
• ‘The Launch’ • District-wide = ‘stamina’ charts,
bins of leveled-readers, Daily 5 activities
• ‘I am reading independently and using context clues for the words I don’t know.’
• Ask your student about their ‘stamina,’ = xx minutes
Connecticut Association of Schools• Thursday, October 9th at St.
Clements Castle• Mike Gray was one of 6
