Match shot – in these shots the circle in the

middle of the vinyl record is matched to

the mirror Noel Gallagher is holding. This creates a link

between the start of the music and Noel

Gallagher singing. This is therefore a

relationship between the music and visuals

which Andrew Goodwin says is a convention of

music videos.

Relationship between music and visuals –In this shot there is a closeup of a record players tonearm putting

the needle on the record to show the start of the music. Andrew Goodwin said that a relationship between the music and visuals is a convention of music videos and

this is shown at this part of the music video. It helps the viewing audience know that the music is starting and

visually shows something supposedly starting it.

Beat match; relationship between music and visuals – In these shots it shows the sequence

of shots used in the music video. Whenever the guitar chord would change the shot would get closer to Liam Gallagher. This is a beat match and a relationship between music and visuals which Andrew Goodwin says is a convention of music videos. These shots help the audience

make a visual link with the music and therefore understand the music better.

Voyeurism – In this shot it shows a woman in a small, revealing outfit touching her body. This is a sexual image and

a voyeuristic view of women and their bodies. Andrew Goodwin says that voyeurism is a convention of music videos.

The female in this shot is the only female to appear in the video and the only person to appear in such revealing,

suggestive clothing. This shows that the video has a male point of view. The use of guitars in the fore ground may

suggest that this is what the members of the band enjoy; guitars and women (in sexual ways). This may mean the

video has been heavily influenced by the band and shows they have a very voyeuristic, sexual, stereotypical male view

of women.

This music has a lot of links between the music and

visuals with members of the band playing their

instruments/singing. A relationship between the

music and visuals is a convention of music videos as said by Andrew Goodwin.

This helps the audience understand the music and

visually link the music to the video. This also shows that

the band focus on their performance and playing and

shows they think their playing is important to the

music.

Close up of artist – in this shot there is a close up of Liam Gallagher the lead singer of oasis. This close up of the artist/star shows the audience the artist. Close ups of the stars are a convention of music videos as

said by Andrew Goodwin. These shots satisfy the audience as they get to see the artist they are

watching the video for.
