Who can apply?The Canada-Alberta Job Grant is available to businesses of all sizes, in all industries, across Alberta.1

Who qualifies?To be eligible: • You must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, or a protected person under the Immigration and

Refugee Protection Act (Canada) who is entitled to work in Canada• Trainees must be residents of Alberta• Organizations receiving funding cannot be publicly funded institutions

Can I still apply?Launched in the fall of October 2014, the CAJG provides increased training funding for employers on a yearly basis. Funds are still available for 2015/16; by 2017-18, upwards of $34 million will be available. 3

How much can I apply for?You can get up to 2/3rds of your training costs reimbursed to a maximum of $10,000 per trainee. As an employer, you can access up to $300,000 in grant funding per year.4

Which training costs are covered?Eligible training costs include:• Tuition fees charged by the training provider• Mandatory student fees

• Textbooks, software and other required materials

• Examination fees5

What training programs qualify? • Be at least 21 hours in length and delivered by

a third-party trainer• Be incremental (does not replace prior training

investments or regular operational training)

• Result in some sort of credential (record of completion, certificate, grade, etc.)6 Your training must:

Which training formats are eligible?Training can be delivered online, on-site or in a classroom, and can be undertaken on a part-or full-time basis.7
