Nicolaus Copernicus
Nicolaus Copernicus was born on February 19, 1473 and died on May 24, 1543. Astronomer and mathematician, he was a native of Poland.

Nicolaus Copernicus developed the heliocentric theory of the solar system. His theory, which was the starting point of modern astronomy, placed the sun at the center of the solar system contradicting the geocentric theory.
