Purpose• The purpose of this data overview is to determine the extent to which

Norcross High School is meeting/exceeding standards set by the Gwinnett County School District as well as by the state of Georgia.

• In order to determine where NHS falls in relevance to other schools in the district, state, and nationally, student assessment data has been gathered.

• Student demographic data has also been provided in order to present a well-rounded critique of the academic goals and achievements of this diverse, Title-1 school

• Located in Norcross, GA, serving 3800+ Students

• Part of the Gwinnett County Public School System

• Principal: William Bishop

• The only high school in the GCPS to have the IB Programme (1999)

• School Colors: blue, silver, and white

• School Mascot: the blue devil (Bishop & Dees, 2014)

• Further improvements must be made to ensure NHS meets/exceeds standards by 2020

The Next Step…• In order to become academically competitive with like schools, Norcross High School

must incorporate professional development programs that address the unique needs of the NHS student body

• Students will be offered after-school remediation, tutoring, and test prep.

• Literacy initiatives have been implemented in all core content areas which will serve to improve cross-disciplinary skills
