ABSTRACT

In introduction we will be discussing about what is personal webpage, contents of a personal webpage & its examples with objective.

Before considering specific components of web site design it is important to note that some experiments which directly compare web based learning with traditional instruction have been conducted within academic settings in recent years.

Methodology contains the ways we develop the webpage.

Web development, Analysis & Designing is the step of developing the website. It contains various codes – HTML, CSS, PHP, JAVASCRIPT etc.

And, Project Description refers to sequential apply of above codes when needed.

In conclusion we provide the suggestions through our perspective of how to improve the contents. Here we also provided some findings and recommendations, some limits and some possibilities of future work.

CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION

Personal webpage refers to an internet based online page, where personal data & information should be included. We can say it as Personal profile. The most common example of personal webpage is Wikipedia.

The content of personal webpage reflects one individual & his or her entire life or lifestyle, he or she leads. It can’t be as same as others, because individual has his or her own lifestyle, which varies from each other.

Like Wikipedia, Facebook, Twitter, Linked IN profile can be said as personal webpage as they reflects one’s personal information like his or her occupation, educational background, work experience, special skills, hobbies, likes, interest etc. It works like a Curriculum Vitae or Resume whatever.

CHAPTER 2: LITERATURE REVIEW

Before considering specific components of web site design it is important to note that some

experiments which directly compare web based learning with traditional instruction have been

conducted within academic settings in recent years. These experiments consistently indicate that

students can learn via the web just as effectively, or in some cases more effectively, than those in

the traditional classroom (Gehrig, 1997; Goldberg, 1997; McCollum, 1997; Russell, 1996;

Witherspoon, 1996). This research is Instructional Web Site Design 5 somewhat misleading, in

that these studies always involve a comparison with an instructor using direct instruction

(lecture), and in some cases the web group is required to do more work (McCollum, 1997).

However, these studies are an important starting point for our review of literature relevant to web

based instruction, especially for the instructor who is reluctant to teach via the web, in that the

available evidence indicates that the learner can learn just as effectively in the web-based

environment. Most importantly, good versus poor instruction is a consequence of design and

delivery, not the medium by which it's delivered (Clark 1983; 1994). Thus, the issue now

becomes, what differentiates an effective web course site design, versus a poor one? The rest of

the review is dedicated to this issue.

CHAPTER 3: METHODOLOGYAll the data in this term paper are secondary data. Mainly information’s are collected from sources like internet. We get also support from our supervisor. The processes of collecting data are given below:

Data collection: First author has collected data from various external sources. The sources are -

1. Wikipedia2. Google,3. W3school

Planning: The first step is to plan and define the exact needs and goals of your website. My job is to teach you my vision, and yours is to bring it to life.

Analysis: We have analyzed the target markets requirements, who will visit our sites, what will be the purpose of their visit, primary goals of the web developer etc.

Design: After we've completed the discovery phase and received the client's approval, we come to the design phase. Keeping in mind all your goals and priorities we will begin to design graphic and layout samples.

Implementation: The final stage of the site's creation is deployment. Once it is demonstrated that the web site functions as desired and outlined in our agreed upon proposal, it is published on your public Web server for all to see.

Operation and maintenance: As your business requirements change, so too will the needs of your site. Successful web sites that generate visitors day after day, year after year must be kept up-to-date with fresh new content.

CHAPTER 4: WEB DEVELOPMENT, ANALYSIS & DESIGNING

Requirements

I must have a laptop.

HTML: html stands for Hyper Text Markup Language which is not a programing language. Markup language consists of some tags called markup tags. A web page is the combination of these tags. HTML elements are the raw materials of a web page.

What can we do by using HTML?

1. For creating webpage using HTML2. For the formation of specific part of web page3. For including dynamic design & features we can use JavaScript.4. CSS is used to give a nice outlook in the webpage 5. We can Provide Server Side Execution Facility by embedding Server Side Scripting

inside HTML.

CHAPTER 5: CONCLUSION

SummaryIn today's Web development, a good page design is essential. A bad design will lead to the loss

of visitors and that can lead to a loss of business. In general, a good page layout has to satisfy the

basic elements of a good page design. This includes color contrast, text organization, and font

selection, style of a page, page size, graphics used, and consistency. In order to create a well-

designed page for a specific audience. The developer needs to organized and analyze the users'

statistics and the background of the users. Although it can be hard to come up with a design that

is well suited to all of the users, there will be a design that is appropriate for most of the

audience. The better the page design, the more hits a page will get. That implies an increase in

accessibility and a possible increase in business.

Findings and Recommendations Data have been collected from Personal lifestyle & experience, as well as personal profile based

webpages.

After analyzing all the researched information and feedback from different users, I would

recommend that a general purposed Web site should use non-frame pages and graphics

navigation bar with rollover effects. In addition to the graphic navigation bar with rollover

effects, each page should also have a text-only navigation bar for easy control. The developer

should also create a Cascading Style Sheet to control the font and font-size and use the style

sheet throughout the site to obtain a consistent look and feel.
