Hack the Hood: Digital Inclusion Meets Small Business October 2015
“I didn’t know that people like me could
work in tech. And now, I could be a
coder.”
- --Norma Soto, Summer 2015 Hack the Hood program participant
Hack the Hood introduces low-income youth of color to careers in technology.
We teach them web development & basic coding skills, which they practice by building web sites for local organizations.
Our young people go from feeling like consumers of tech to producers of tech--and start to see futures they never imagined.

We fill a place in the pipeline that’s essential
Because we focus on low-income youth, and those who are not always on college
track, we transform the experience of many young people—and change the trajectory of
what they do.
