Personality Profiling to Improve the Odds of Startup

Success by Nelson Zagalsky, Ph.D.President, High-Tech Focus

Nelson Zagalsky
Good morning! As Karen indicated, i enjoyed a successful career as an engineering and marketing executive before becoming an executive coach. As I look back over my career, I almost come to tears when I think about how mcuh more I could have achieved, and how mcuh more I might have enjoyed the journey, had I been able to reach the peak of my leadership capability earlier than I did.

Start-up Success

Not just about having a good plan; requires effective execution

Nelson Zagalsky
........We eventually overcome some of our problematic behaviors with little outside help, because the pain that we experience from their consequences cause us to shift behavior and "mellow out" But such change is far slower than what we would hope for.Often our performance reveiews have repeatedly pointed a problematic behavior or competency gap, and yet we are unable to change. For example, during my management career with Honeywell, each summer I would return from week long leadership or executive development program sessions out East, committed to lessen my intensity, and to become a better listener. But within a few days of getting back to work, that commitment would fade amongst all the pressures of the job.
