Istasqa prayers are performed when there is a scarcity.

A large number of people go to some plain area and offer two rakaat of congregational

Istasqa prayer for rains in the leadership of Imam.

Then everyone praying spread their arms and ask Allah for forgiveness of their sins

and request for rain.

In this two rakaat prayers women's and children's should be taken along.

Inshallah within three days there will be clouds and rain.

At the time when there was a famine Hazrat Musa (A.S) thought to go for Istasqa prayer so almost all the

people living nearby including animals went for the prayer. There In the leadership of Hazrat Musa (A.S)

prayed Allah for rain but there was no rain so Hazrat Musa (A.S) asked Allah that why there is no rain so

Allah told Musa (A.S) the reason for no rain is that amongst you there is one person who is disobeying my

commands for forty consecutive years. Tell him to leave the gathering and there will be rain. Hazrat Musa

(A.S) did as Allah told him to do so.

Listening to this announcement, the sinner looked around and saw that none got out of the gathering! He

thought, it is to me whom this is being addressed to. He further thought that when I would be leaving this

gathering, people would definitely see me and if I don’t leave this place there will be no rain so he cried out

for forgiveness from the Almighty Allah he wasn’t finished yet and it started raining.

Hazrat Musa (A.S) was quite astounded! Being very surprised, he asked Allah that no one left the gathering

but it started raining then Allah told him all that how the man asked for forgiveness of his sins. Hazrat

Musa (A.S) requested Allah that please tell me who is that man then Allah replied “ I did not humiliate him

at the time he disobeyed me, why would I now humiliate him when he had come under My Shelter

Khusoof prayers are performed when there is a lunar eclipse.

It is not offered in congregation.

• During the lunar eclipse 2 rakaat of prayer should be offered.

After this the praying one should ask forgiveness from Allah.

› It is performed when there is full eclipse.

It is offered in congregation.

• Two rakkat of congregation prayer should be offered.

After Surah-Al-Fatiha the lengthiest surah remembered should be recited in both

rakaat.

After that man should ask for forgiveness of his sins <facing the qibla>.

It should be offered till the eclipse is over.

– After performing wuzu {before body dry} 2 rakkat of prayer are offered.

In first rakkat Surah-Al-Kafirun is recited.

In second rakkat Surah-Al-Ikhlas is recited.

• Both these surah's are recited after Surah-Al-Fatiha.

This prayer give us great rewards.
