We have studied a few artists local artists. Both artists were

very unique and have individual styles of art.

Paul Bell was originally born in Ballymena in 1968. He began his studies with a Foundation Year in Art and Design

at Limavady, he went on to Art and Design at Newport College, graduating with a first class honours degree from

the University of Wales.His paintings are much sought after for

their strong physical resemblance to their subject matter, both in aesthetic and analytical terms. His passion to

understand the internal make-up of his subject is ever present in the sculptural quality of his portraits, whether human

or animal.

Paul Bell’s paintings are displayed throughout

Northern Ireland. A few of his paintings are displayed in the Galgorm Hotel today. Paul Bell’s painting range

from £800 to £3000.

Throughout our school during art class, we studied Paul Bell. Covering his background and what inspired him to create his artwork. The children picked one of their favourite pieces of Paul Bell’s paintings to study.

William Morris was an English artist, poet and politician. He was incredibly creative and

he produced decorative art in a range of different forms,

including: textiles, furniture, wallpaper, stained glass

windows, book design and tapestry.

William Morris was born in 1834 and he died in 1896. He earned a degree from Exeter

College, Oxford. After his graduation he started to work

as an architect.

A famous William Morris quote is:Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be

beautiful.

William Morris was best known for his pattern designs,

particularly on fabrics and wallpapers. Here are a few samples of

the artwork he produced.

Throughout our school during art class, we also studied William Morris. We learnt all about his background and what inspired him to create his artwork. The children picked one of their favourite pieces of William Morris’
