FRONT COVER…

For my front cover I aim to capture my model against a plain white backdrop which her positioned centrally within the image. I have chosen to do this so the image looks clean and professional with no other distractions around the model. I did not want to use a detailed background as this could make the image look too busy and cluttered combined with any text used. Most magazines also use a white backdrop therefore it made sense to also do this and to conform to this convention. White is a colour also apart of my colour scheme as well as electric blue and black which the model will wear or the colours of coverlines or masthead. I have chosen these two front covers as my inspirations because they have already presented my ideas very successfully. I also really like these two separate products as they obviously belong to indie music.

CONTENTS PAGE…

On my contents page I aim to include three images; London landscape, my cover star and another indie artist. The background colour will either be white, grey or another neutral colour with pops of colour from my colour scheme. The main image will be of my cover star which will be the largest image on the page, with the other two smaller images positioned underneath. These two contents pages are very well designed and follow all the standard conventions. My ideas are expression on these pages; neutral background colour, large main image and pops of the colour red.

DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD…

On my double page spread I will have one image that will be stretched over both pages just like these pages inserted below. The image will be of my model against a backdrop of Brick Lane e.g. graffiti/street art, vintage mark stalls or the Brick Lane road sign. This is so my spread will look like a piece of professional artwork as an intricate and iconic background will surround the subject matter. When editing my spread I will use a pull quote to grab the readers attention to the main body text also shown in my inspirational spreads.
