Shaun Anderson Music Video Narrative Analysis - Travis – Flowers in the Window The music video for Flowers in the Window begins with an intro of the band, Travis, all asleep in a car driven by an unknown lady through a seemingly deserted area. They then arrive in an unknown town and get out of the car to discover that pregnant women inhabit the town. This suggests that the lyrics to the song may have something to do with pregnant women having children. “When I first held you I was cold A melting snowman I was told But there was no-one there to hold before I swore that I would be alone for ever more” These lyrics suggest that the singer is talking to his child, telling them about when he first held them, and how he/she was his first child. The lyrics are similar to the music video in a way as when these lyrics are sung, it is when they walk past several women who appear to be pregnant.
