Crazy Town - Butterfly

This Video portrays women as being magical as this is shown with the two girls in the video wearing bright colours and wings. But also sexy as the two girls aren’t wearing a lot. The fact that both the girls are wearing wings also ties in with lyrics of the song.

There are a lot of close ups of the band in the video and they’re very frequent. This shows how individual they look as all band members are covered in tattoos and piercings, the close ups exaggerate this.

There is an awful lot of editing in this video as it is set in a forest full of colour and the band members have a glow around them. It ties in with the lyrics as the song is called butterfly and you find butterflies in forests with lots of other wildlife.

Crystal Castles - CelesticaIn this video there are a lot of close ups of Alice Glass as she is the main feature in Crystal castles though there is another member who also has close ups but not have as many as Alice Glass. This shows her image and also her role in the band with being the main attraction as the singer.

Editing is rare in this video but when used it adds to the video as it creates a mood and also sets the scene as the setting is in a forest and also a church is featured. Crystal Castles video’s don’t seem to link in with their lyrics. I think this adds to how the band want to be represented, as meaningful and serious

Alice Glass also has a very unique look as she hardly wears any colour and always sticks to the short dark hairstyle. This also contributes to their image as a whole.

Cobra Starship – Snakes On A Plane (Bring It)

The band are made up of artists from other bands so the close up is showing them as a whole. There are a lot of close ups of the different artists possibly so the audience can recognise the artists from their own bands.

As this song is part of a soundtrack for a film, the main actor from the film has appeared in the video giving the audience having seen the film an easy link to the film.

Editing is used in this video a lot but not for effects but for transitions between shots. The only transition used is a cut. This makes the video interesting as it all happens very quickly and the audience are following the storyline of the video.
