Word art Pictures are made by filling text with a selected image on the document.

Step 1: Click on the “Insert” tab.

Step 2: Click on “Word Art” and select a Word Art style.

Step 3: Type in the selected word and adjust the font as desired. Press “OK”.

Step 4: Click on the “Shape Fill” icon to access the pull-down menu.

Step 5: Click on “Picture”.

Step 6: Find the file with your selected image. Click on the chosen picture and then press “Insert”.

Step 7: Use the Word Art Format tools to make any additional changes.

Bookmarking a document is a useful way to quickly return to specific locations in your written work when editing.

A bookmark identifies a location or a selection of text that you name and identify for future reference.

Bookmarking can be done during the typing process, as well as after.

Step 1: Type your document as usual.

Step 3: Click on the “Insert” tab and then on “Bookmark”.

Step 2: Place the cursor at the preferred location.

Step 4: Type a name under “Bookmark name”. Bookmark names must start with a letter and cannot contain spaces. Click “Add”.

Step 5: Continue to add bookmarks as needed.

Step 6: Sort bookmarks alphabetically by name or by location.

Using Your BookmarksStep 1: Click on the “Insert” tab.

Step 2: Click on “Bookmark”.

Step 3: Select the appropriate bookmark name.

Step 4: Click on “Go To”.

Deleting Your Bookmarks

Step 1: Click on the “Insert” tab.

Step 2: Click on “Bookmark”.

Step 3: Select the appropriate bookmark name.

Step 4: Click on “Delete”.

Creating a Document Scrap allows you to repeatedly paste a selected amount of information throughout a document and/or between most programs without having to constantly “copy and paste” or use the clipboard.

Step 1: Highlight the selected text or image.

Step 2: Drag it over to your desktop. A “Document Scrap” will be

created for you.

Step 3: Right-click on the scrap to rename it for easier identification.

Step 4: Continue to make as many scraps as needed.

Step 5: To use a scrap, click on it and then drag it to where you would like it to be inserted.

Document Scraps are simple to use and a great way to copy and paste. You can use scraps for repeated passages in comments, letters, and emails!

The Replace feature can also be used effectively with scraps in all of your writing projects and correspondence with others.
