Ms. Spero’s Art Class RulesMs. Spero’s Art Class Rules
Welcome to Art!Welcome to Art!
The number one rule is: RespectThe number one rule is: Respect
Respect yourself.
Respect others.
Respect art supplies.
Respect your teacher.
Yourself. That means you shouldn’t be saying negative things about yourself such as “I’m no good at this,” or “this is terrible.” If you don’t like the way your project looks Ms. Spero will help you.
Others. Don’t bring your classmates down but build them up instead! Make good choices with your words and your hands.
The supplies. Ask if you need to use something not on your table. Take what you need but use what you take.
Your teacher. I ask for you to respect me by following the rules I’ve set. A positive classroom atmosphere will allow us to work on many different types of art throughout the year.
Listening:Listening:
Please be quiet and listen when Ms. Spero is speaking or showing instructions. You might know how to do something, but that doesn’t mean that all your classmates do.
Make good choices when listening! If someone at your table tries to talk to you, ignore them. If you have a lot of energy and are having a hard time staying still, grab a pencil or eraser from the table and keep it in your hands.
Cleaning UpCleaning Up
You will hear a one minute warning when it’s almost time to clean up.
You will then hear a sound telling the class to clean up. Put your materials down when you hear this sound.
Each week I will choose two clean up helpers. They will each choose a friend and work together to put things away for the next class.
Grades:Grades:Grades:
Other RulesOther Rules
There is NO name calling, teasing, bullying, or disrespect in my art room. I have no tolerance for any of these.
Raise your hand and ask if there’s a supply you need.
DO NOT touch anything on my desk or the paper cutter.
Other Rules, ContinuedOther Rules, Continued
Anyone who finishes a project earlier than the rest of the class may make something from the extra activities corner.
Classes that prove they can listen when I am speaking and handle materials well will be able to complete more projects and work with materials as the year goes on.
Free Choice Art Days
Each class has an assigned class palette on the chart by the door. The palettes are blank right now.
A color will be filled in on each day a class behaves well from the time they enter until the time that they leave.
When the entire palette is filled, the class will earn a free choice art day! On free choice art day, students can work with beads, clay, Model Magic, paint, and other fun materials.
You also get to keep what you make on free choice art day.
Third grade will learn about many modern artists this year.
Fourth Grade will learn about art from other parts of the world this year.
