FOLD MOUNTAINS Most of the mountains we see
today are fold mountains. They are higher when compared to other mountains. Eg. Mt. Everest
Block mountains The block mountains are formed
as a result of uplift by land forms due to faulting.
Eg: Black forest
Relict mountain Due of the different weathering processes of prolonged
duration, the rocks that are not very resistant get disintegrated and only those resistant part remain. These mountains are called relict mountains. Eg: The Aravalli ranges and Nilgiris in India.
Volcanic mountains Volcanic mountains are caused when
molten rock flows out onto the earth is surface through fissures that are caused due to the movement of plates.
Eg: Mt. Fujiyama in Japan
