This article is about a man who lives a double life. During the day he works as a cellphone vendor, in the evening he goes out and cross-dresses (something forbidden in religious parts of Pakistan). The article is interesting as it raises the issues that go along with living a double life – and the situations people will put themselves in just to live a ‘dangerous’ way of life. With our thriller, we would like to tell the story of somebody who is struggling to balance his family life and his dangerous fetish/addiction – this is similar to this article, as the article points out that the subject is unsure where it’s worth it or not. There is an internal struggle as well as a physical one.

This article is about a man who killed his parents, dismembered their limbs and then cooked them “like barbecued pork”. Whilst this article is not strictly related to the idea that we would like to run with for our thriller, it does reveal some narrative about the struggle between an internal, private desire (in this case – the man who hates his parents and is a cannibal) and his public persona. In the article, when the man fully carry’s out his desires, the struggle breaks and his public persona is broken. The character in our thriller would be facing a similar scenario – although he isn’t a cannial.

This article is written from the perspective of a man who’s father was a police officer (good) but was murdered by a member of the IRA (bad) – it turns out that his father’s murderer was also a sex abuser. The article is extremely effective at revealing the hardships and struggles for the man following his fathers death – this is a perspective which will be important to show during our thriller in order to develop the characters past being one dimensional. What is also interesting (and relevant to our thriller) is how the member of the IRA had a whole other, negative, side to him. This shows how one thing can lead onto another; a side we had not yet thought about for our male protagonist.
