Unit G321 – Planning the Magazine – “Mood Board”

Above are images of inspiration for my music magazine. There are lots of colors red, black and white, as I have decided that this should be my house color. This is because I thought red would be more successful than purple, because it is a prime color and represents power and that both genders can appeal to the color. Images show contemporary and some old-looking bands / members, because I want my magazine to represent a range of ages and genders as possible. The most mentioned rock instrument is the electric guitar, which is the head of Rock n roll and metal, because it plays important melodies and accompaniments that is essential to the music genre. The font style is presented in some of the images here too, where it is very ruff, but clear and readable. As it is recognizable in the mood board, I used lots of long haired musicians to represent the stereotypical appearance of rock artists.

In terms of imageries and symbols, I chose the rolling stones’ mouth logo and skulls, because they both represent rebelling attitudes, yet effective for memory and impact (simplistic and clear logo / themes).

As a conclusion, the above mood board has clarified my ideas in terms of house styles, and the possible models and the action of the models that I would like to have in my magazine. I was again re-assured that the clothing would be good if it was of a black color as much as possible.
