Largest of old Delhi’s monuments.Was used as British army headquarters during

the reign of British.It’s walls extended up to 2Km and vary in

height from 18mts on the riverside to 33mts on the city.

Made of thick red sandstone.On 15th Aug, the Prime Minister addresses the

nation from here.

It was build for the use of of Muezzin (crier) to give calls for prayer.

Build as a victory memorial to mark the victory of Muslims in Delhi.

All the storeys are surrounded by a projected balcony.

NAME THIS MONUMENT

Nayaks build this temple.The thousand Pillar Mandapam is the ‘wonder

of place’. Each pillar is sculpted and is a monument of the Dravidian style of architecture.

There are musical pillars, each pillar when struck gives a different musical note.

Named after Shiva and Parvathi.It is in Madurai.

The 42m high, ‘ an ‘Arc De Triumphe’ like archway, in the middle of a cross road.

Similar to it’s French counterpart war memorial.Designed by Edwin Lutyens.The entire arch stands on a low base of Red

Bharatpur stone, beneath which is inscribed “ Imperial Sons”

A flame that burns day and night under the arch to remind the nation of Soldiers who gave their life for the nation

This five storied structure is entrusted with elegant trellis work on windows and small balconies.

NAME THIS MONUMENT

It was built to commemorate the elimination of a plague epidemic from the city.

This massive structure was built with “granite and lime mortar” and coated with plaster which included the white of eggs to give it a smooth and creamy finish.

Based on Cazra style architecture.Surrounded by busting bazaar of pearl shops,

jewellery shops, perfume and ittar dealers.Built in 1951 by Sultan Muhammed Quli Qutub

Shah of Hyderabad.

“Yantra Mantra”.
