• Fast shot changes and short shot duration from the beginning immediately grabs the audience's attention. Fear, confusion and suspense are already established conforming to typical thriller genre conventions. Music adds to suspense, reaching crescendo then going very quiet.

• Music effects of drums mimicking a heartbeat puts the audience on edge.

• Structure of showing the future then reverting back to the past makes the audience want to figure out the bridge between the two events.

• Shots are predominantly medium two shots focusing on the two main characters of the movie, allowing the audience to piece together the characters of importance and their relationship to each other.

• Upbeat music conveys a happy atmosphere. Seeing as the audience already know that terrible events are about to happen, it makes the audience more anxious due to dramatic irony.
