Global Citizenship Project
Project BackgroundQatar Independent Secondary School/ Doha Qatar
participated in a virtual exchange program hosted by Global Nomads
Group. As part of the program, our school collaborated with
Lindblom Math & Science Academy, Chicago - Illinois to develop
solutions to the challenges our communities face.
We decided to address the problem of Misuse of Water &
ElectricityTo do this, we created a school Exhibit, a video and
distributed some flyers.
Misuse of water & Electricity1. Why is the project important
to you and your community?Qatar may have the highest rate of water
consumption per person in the world, at 430 liters a day. Its yet
another superlative to add to the list, alongside worlds highest
per capita carbon footprintand worlds richest country per
capita.
2. What did you hope to achieve through this project?To create
awareness and take some actions towards conserving water &
electricity.
3.How it will address the problem?It would enable to change some
habits & malpractices and create a general consciousness
towards creating a sustainable environment for future generations
by saving the excess usage of water & electricity.
