Bob Marley Bob Marley was born on February 6, 1945, in Nine Miles, Saint Ann, Jamaica,

to Norval Marley and Cedella Booker. His father was a Jamaican of English descent. His mother was a black teenager. The couple planned to get married but Norval left Kingston before this could happen. Norval died in 1955, seeing his son only once.

MUSICAL START

In 1960, with only fifteen, Bob Marley formed a vocal group, whose members were also Peter Tosh, another important genre. In 1962, Jimmy Cliff (another future big star) Bob Marley introduced a producer and recorded their first album: Judge Not.

With the name The Wailing Wailers recorded more than two dozen hit singles nationally between 1963 and 1967. In 1967 Bob Marley renounced Christianity to embrace the Rastafarian religion, a Caribbean religious political movement that takes its name from Ras Tafari , ie, Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia, and proclaiming that the inhabitants of the West Indies come from Ethiopia and there again.

Bob Marley death

he cancer diagnosed earlier had spread to his brain, lungs and stomach. Bob Marley died in a Miami hospital on May 11, 1981. He was 36 years old.
