Michael Harris an academic. Born in South Africa. Served as chancellor and professorat Indiana University Kokomo. Michael Harris Chancellor led an intentionaltransformation of IUK. That included: driven record-breaking enrollment, campusbeautification, introducing club sports and joining NAIA, regional transformation,recognition for innovative initiatives by the Lumina Foundation, and Impower Powerfundraising campaign to build the Milt & Jean Cole Family Wellness & Fitness Center.Michael Harris introduced 15 new academic degree programs that are current andrelevant. They included a Master in Nursing, Bachelor of Art and Bachelor of Appliedscience. Michael Harris Chancellor was named Person of the Year 2011 by theKokomo Perspective and Honorary Commander of Grissom Air Base.

Michael Harris continued academic work and to publish. In 2012, Wiley, Jossey-Basspublished his book The Learner-Centered Curriculum: Design and Implementation (withCullen and Hill). In 2010 he published Leading the Learner-Centered Campus: AnAdministrator’s Framework for Improving Student Learning Outcomes (with Cullen).

Dr. Michael Harris earned a Ph.D., in public policy, Indiana University, an M.A. in publicpolicy, Tel Aviv University and B.A. in economics and business administration, Bar IlanUniversity. Prior to Chancellor IU kokomo he served as Provost and Vice President forAcademic Affairs at Kettering University, Flint Michigan.
