Our media product – Film. Within; our opening sequence we can not portray any social groups as our protagonist has no identity also due to the fact it is an opening sequence not that much would be either revealed. Even if this was to turn out to be film the person would not be revealed at least to the end of the movie. This is why as a group we cannot talk about social group that much.

ClassThe class that I am going to represent would be middle class people. This is shown through the opening sequence ; we cannot see who the protagonist is but we know he must be some normal person through the narrative. However, the way this person is dressed and presented has not been revealed but we know he is like other normal civilians. As we can assume that character would be working class this is shown through the conditions that in which they live in.

If we think about this in reality we would have to say that most kidnapping cases happen to middle class family. Room is to be dark and kidnap cases are usually planned in a very mysterious this could represent the middle class/ working as kidnapper is not able to financially support themselves. In challenge; to this be revenge plot where kidnapper we know as middle class could be aiming to plot revenge on another family member and kidnap their child.The kids that we have used are also based in middle class families. The places that are marked on map shows the places in Europe; these are not as expensive and represent middle class as well.

Social Group

• 15 and over- The appropriate age group for genre –Thriller. As teens would be already be known and would be aware of these situations- kidnapping.

• The Gender group – As mentioned before males and females would love to watch thriller movies. Kidnapping case in thriller movies is something that becomes quite sensitive towards women. This is a typical stereotype where women would feel emotional towards this scene due to their maternal instinct.
