1. In what ways does our media product use, develop or
challenge forms and conventions of real media products.
2. Using forms and conventions of real media products. Our film
uses traditional tense horror music such as the heartbeat sound and
loud sudden sounds to set an atmosphere for the audience.
3. Using forms and conventions of real media products. Our film
also uses the effect of lighting effectively by portraying sections
of the film at night to develop feelings of fear for the audience
and portrays the main character defeated in a dark room which shows
an element of terror.
4. Developing forms and conventions of real media products We
developed the idea of the well know sound of the jaws attack music
to incorporate into our own film. Using the same basic principle of
rapidly accelerating non diegetic sound which, in our case, was a
heartbeat sound with which we were able to create a tense
atmosphere as the main character gets abducted.
5. Challenging forms and conventions of real media products. As
a general rule within our film we followed the genre conventions of
the horror franchise however and our own audience feedback.
However: We did stray from the usual horror movie convention of
using makeup such as blood to: A) Keep to our tight student budget
B) Use the teams individual skill to use editing, lighting, camera
angles and diegetic and non diegetic sound to create the feelings
we wanted the viewer to develop.
