Malenadu Education And Rural Development Society (MEARDS)is a Registered non-profit organization working in the Uttara Kannada District of Karnataka for the past 12 years. Its Area of operation is focused on the education and overall development of the under privileged rural population.

Well developed rural region with all the basic necessities like clean environment remunerative employment opportunities quality educational facilities etc..

VISION

Unraveling the full potential of the children by providing quality education in child – centered ambience.Creation of rural – environment friendly employment opportunities to stop migration to urban centers.Transfer of Technologies to the rural areas.Capacity building of the rural poor by forming SHGs and providing trainings.Introduction of Scientific and innovative Teaching Techniques by providing proper training to Teachers.Creation of Environmental Awareness to preserve and protect the biodiversity of the Western Ghats .

Chandana is a school to provide activity based, creative child- centered education established during 2002 in narebail, a backward village of Sirsi Taluka. The Object of the school is that financial constraints should not become a barrier of learning.

Chandana Nursery was started at sirsi in 2005 for overall development of the children using learning materials in play-way method.

This is a Resource center started with the financial support of Deshpande Foundation (USA), Hubli, to provide Science training to the teachers and student, especially of government school through out Uttara Kannada District . The main concern of this program is to provide hands on training to Rural Students.

RURAL SCIENCE CENTRERURAL SCIENCE CENTRE

This was started with the financial help of Kasturi Trust, Bangalore, to provide necessary English Conversation and computer Operation skills to poor unemployed graduates and undergraduates at affordable cost.

These are rural information centers at golikoppa and Nrebail villages to cultivate reading habit among rural people.

RURAL LIBRARYRURAL LIBRARY

Collaborated with Akshara Foundation to implement their Remedial Program for Slow Learners by providing volunteers to government schools.Working with Infosys Foundation, Bangalore, to distribute Library books and Computers to the government schools.Partnering with Centre for rural Studies (Manipal Academy) to assess annually the quality of education in 30 revenue villages in the district under ASER..

To replicate schools in Chandana ModelTo provide science to 5000 students and 1000 science teachers during 2010-11.To start AKRUTI-demonstration cum training center regarding inclusive rural development through Science & Technology Work Plan in collaboration with Baba Atomic Research Center ,TrombaySave Earth a part of creating awareness & stopping Global Warming. By Taking necessary steps to prevent environment by controlling & limiting  carbon imitation.’MY HOME’ homes is a new way of life that make sure that the person gets the pleasure and atmosphere he is looking for. Everything right from health, food, lodging and entertainment is taken care.
