SEPHARDICGEN HTTP://WWW.SEPHARDICGEN.COM/

Unlike many genealogists Mathilde did not restrict herself to researching her own ancestral tree. Her databases were wide-ranging, extending from a unique gazetteer of localities with Jewish Communities in the Sephardic Diaspora to lists of Jews sent to Bergen Belsen. An index of both the birth and the marriage records of the Sephardic (Turkish) community of Vienna, Austria to the names of Oriental Jews who lived in pre-Israel Eretz Israel mentioned in Moshe Gaon's 1938 book. She prepared an extensively documented list of surnames from medieval Spain that still persist to the present day as well as databases from Algeria, Bulgaria and Egypt, to Turkey and (ex)Yugoslavia. She worked to the very end. Two weeks before her passing I notified her that the last two databases she had sent me (1,617 names from the Oran periodical La voix d’Israël (1914-1923) and her transcription of Bulgarian Memorial Plaques) had gone online on SephardicGen.Jeff Malka  http://genealogy.org.il/2015/01/26/mathilde-tagger-1933-2014-jeff-malka/
