Early Antarctica explorers were

only able to wear natural fibre

clothing. This included heavy

layers of itchy woollen fabrics

and outer canvas layers that

were soaking up the moisture

of allowing it to escape. Every

morning the clothes would

have frozen solid overnight.

The explores would just have to put

them on like that . As the day went on

and the garments warmed up, they

would eventually become more flexible.
