Making the Right Choices with Jesus’ Help Making the right choice is not always easy. Jesus can help you to make the right choice. If you take time to be quiet, you can hear “the sound of a gentle whisper” 1 of God’s voice speaking to your heart. I don’t want to nap! I’m not tired. Jesus, I don’t want to nap, but I don’t want to be tired tonight when Jimmy visits. “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.” 2 It was nice to see Jimmy again. We had a lot of fun. I’m happy I took a nap. Yes, listening to Jesus always works out best! Can I go to bed early tonight instead? You need your rest, Nick. What should I do? God’s voice can guide you through His Word or through the things that you know to be right.

When you listen to God’s voice in your heart, it will be easier to make the right choices that will bring you the most happiness.

Footnotes:1 1 Kings 19:12 NLT2 Ephesians 6:1 NIV

Let’s go to the park.

But I want to play at the

park!

There you go, Molly. Sleep tight.

It’s raining outside, Janet. You have a cough, so it would be better to

play indoors today.

Even when we face disappointment, there are still things that can make you happy.

How about playing with your dolls for now, and when you’re healthy you can go outside again?

Jesus, I really wanted to play at the

park, but since I can’t, what should I do that

will still be fun?

Why don’t you ask Jesus if there is

something else you can do indoors that will

be fun for you?
