How is a sound made?
What does a speaker do?
What happens when you bring two magnets together?
Answer the three questions on this side of the ticket. You must attempt each one, it doesn’t matter if it’s right or wrong! (you need the ticket for later so hold on to it)

Testing your loudspeaker
1. Plug it into the AC points
2. Turn the voltage as low as possible
3. Switch on the plug at the mains
4. Switch on the switch on the front
5. Listen 6. Move your ear right
above the speaker
• Describe how sounds are made (4)
• What happens to the sound as you bring your ear closer? What causes this? (5)
• Explain how a speaker works (7)
• Extension: how could you change the sound produced by your speaker? (8)
